This month’s postcard comes from the cherry blossom season in Kyoto, Japan.
I took this photo during a bike ride along the Kamogawa River in central Kyoto.
It was the first warm day of the year, and the cherry blossoms had officially begun to bloom.

Every season in Japan has its charms, but there is something undeniably magical about spring, when the whole country emerges from the depths of winter with a burst of gorgeous bright pink and white flowers.
Throughout Japan (not just Kyoto, by any means) hanami (cherry blossom viewing) parties take place, with families, friends and coworkers flocking to parks to enjoy picnics of bento boxes, sake and beer.

Thinking about a trip to Japan during cherry blossom season 2016? Whatever you do, don’t save it for the last minute.
It may be slightly too early to begin planning now, but we definitely recommend starting to plan within the next few months, at the latest.
Until Next Time!

“I only have positive things to say about my experience with Boutique Japan Travel. They were everything a first time traveler to Japan would want. They were attentive to our needs and desires; they offered sensitive guidance when we needed it; and they were overall a pleasure to deal with. I highly and without reservation recommend them and plan on utilizing them again in the future. A job well done!” – Harvey and Jan, Philadelphia
