A key part of our travels involved checking out some incredible hotels and ryokans (one of the “hardest” parts of our “job”), as well as meeting up with several of our favorite guides and specialists throughout the country (which often involves the hardship of eating wonderful food and drinking amazing sake).
Holding in-person events like this is essential, particularly for companies like ours, since we don’t usually have the benefit of working and playing together, in person. There are so many benefits to being globally distributed, but the benefits of spending time together — in person — are also huge.
We’ve come out of this trip closer to one another, even more knowledgeable about this endlessly fascinating country, and with ideas and inspiration for the future of Boutique Japan!
